  • The Walmart Foundation has granted $25,000 to Healthy Lifestyle Choices for Children project, an initiative of Volunteers of America’s Fresh Food Factor Program. Funds will be used to support nutrition and healthy lifestyle education among approximately 800 disadvantaged, low-income children and their families in Orleans Parish.
  • HLC’s 1st Annual Run for Health was a Success!
    April 2013Sponsored by Sam’s Club, United Healthcare, Semolina and Capital One, HLC’s 1st AnnualRun for Health was a great success and helped to provide health education resources to the Greater New Orleans community! Sam’s Club sponsored 50 local teachers and administrators from Orleans and Jefferson Parishes to participate in the race. At the Run for Health starting line, Sam’s Club presented Healthy Lifestyle Choices (HLC) with a check for $40,000, which enabled Healthy Lifestyle Choices to continue its local behavioral health programming. Currently Healthy Lifestyle Choices programming reaches 65% of school children in the Greater New Orleans Area.
